The first public road in the township was the “old territorial road” from Toledo to Angola, Indiana, which opened through Richfield Township in 1834-1835.
Who takes care of my Road?
Today there are three state roads through the community; State Route 20 & 120, which runs east/west and State Route 295 (Berkey Southern Rd.) which runs north/south. The remainders of the roads within the community are local roads maintained by the county, village or township. The township has 9.6 miles of township roads.
